Our Purpose...
Support Department Personnel and their families in time of need with strict confidence and compassion. Serve as a communication link between persons in crisis and their own spiritual advisers.
Coordinate follow-up counseling for those indicating both a need and an interest in such help.
Lighten the burden by assisting, when requested, in the performance of tasks which tend to have a greater emotional and/or spiritual, rather than legal implication, e.g. death messages, domestic disturbances, fires, suicide calls, health trauma issues, and spiritual counseling requests.
The Chaplaincy will endeavor to provide 24/7 coverage.
Central Minnesota Emergency Services Chaplaincy is

How Can I Help?
You can help in many ways, but one of the best ways is to offer your financial support. While our chaplains may volunteer their time, serving requires regular training, and there are expenses involved in the performance of their service.
Your gift of $20, $50, or even $100 can make a very real, very positive impact in the lives of those who put their lives on the line for us every day.
If you are able, you might choose to sponsor a chaplain's tuition with a gift of $450.
You can donate two ways: Online via PayPal, or through the mail with a check.

First Responders
We all can rest easy knowing that if there is an emergency, if our life or property are threatened, there are dedicated men and women who have chosen to be there for us.
These are strong and dedicated men and women, able do deal with more pressure than most of will ever experience. They spend their time helping others, offering strength and protection to those in need. It takes an extraordinary person to be a policeman or fireman.
But who is there for them when they are in need of help? Often times, our police and fire fighters are witnesses to unspeakable events. Yet, they have to maintain a professional composure, and carry out their duties. These events and sights can take a toll on even the strongest.
CMESC is there for them, offering spiritual counseling and comfort. We are there to assist with some of the more difficult tasks, such as making death notifications.

Waite Park, MN - August 9, 2012
This afternoon we had a very tragic and a rather gruesome scene at a traffic fatality involving a car and motorcycle. When the request for a chaplain was made the response to the scene was very swift and extremely helpful. I know Chris Cortte, Mike Loomis and Steve Schoepf were on scene.
There were several people at the scene who witnessed the crash and/or were friends of the victim who were very upset. Somehow the wife of the victim found out what had happened and called Chris’s cell phone. A very unorthodox way to deliver a death notification but Chris handled it extremely well and was able to respond to where the wife, friends, and co-workers of the victim had gathered. I know other chaplains answered the call also but I didn’t get their names.
I truly truly appreciate the quick response by all of the chaplains involved. You provided us with a very valuable assist today.
Thank you so much. You guys are the best!!
